About California Mental Health Network

At California Mental Health Network, we are committed to breaking barriers, fostering equity, and transforming mental health care across California. Founded on the principles of culturally responsive care and community-driven healing, our mission is to ensure accessible, high-quality mental health services for all, especially for underserved populations.

About Our Founder – Andrew Harris

Andrew Harris, the founder of California Mental Health Network, is a mental health advocate, clinician, and leaderwith over a decade of experience in youth corrections, child welfare, community corrections, and behavioral health agencies. As the owner of Colorado Mental Health Network, the only Black male-owned mental health clinic licensed by the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration, Andrew has dedicated his career to addressing systemic inequities in mental health care.

Andrew specializes in evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), helping individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. His patient-centered approach and deep commitment to cultural responsiveness have allowed him to bridge gaps in mental health care for marginalized communities.

Beyond clinical work, Andrew is an advocate for mental health equity, working to dismantle stigma and increase access to culturally competent providers. His research explores racial and cultural concordance in mental health services, examining how provider-client alignment influences engagement and outcomes. Through his doctoral studies at the University of Colorado Denver, Andrew is expanding his expertise to further drive change in the mental health field and improve service delivery models.

As an author and educator, Andrew uses storytelling to promote mental health awareness among youth and families. His novels, including Dr. Mind and the Biracial Misfit Part I and the upcoming Here Come the ‘Maybes’, highlight mental health themes and identity struggles in marginalized communities.

At California Mental Health Network, we believe in the power of community collaboration, evidence-based care, and culturally attuned treatment to create a more inclusive and effective mental health system. Our commitment to education, advocacy, and high-quality service is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive.

Empowering Minds, Transforming Communities—Building a Healthier California.
